Hometown Heroes
(9/22) Third and fourth grade gifted students enjoyed listening and learning from a few “hometown heroes” today! Mrs Nancy Maxey, Mrs Susan Hamilton, and Ms CJ Butler talked to the students about how they give of their time and effort to help with Operation Christmas Child. They showed students how to take t-shirts and make jump ropes that they place into the shoeboxes sent to children all over the world. Students also learned how to make balls from T-shirts! Students worked hands-on with our special guests to create their own ball! Students are currently collecting T-shirts at school that will be used to make jump ropes and other items to send to children in need in other countries!
