Monster Narratives (10/31) Mrs. Hodum's students practiced story elements by creating monsters, and writing narrative stories about them. Their stories included descriptions of characters, setting and plot.
Finding Area (10/31) Mrs. Kirk's math classes began learning about area this week. Area is the number of unit squares needed to cover a region. She used painters tape on the floor to make shapes. The students were given instructions to discuss and find the area of each given shape.
Kindness Counts (10/30) During Ms. Kinnard's classroom guidance lessons this week, she is discussing the importance of being kind to others. She is leaving the students with an important message to remember: "Kindness starts with you!"
Light Energy (10/27) Mrs. Heatherly's class studied light energy this week. Today, students learned about the Northern Lights and did chalk art to create them.
Red Ribbon Week 2023 (10/27) Students and staff at DT Cox pledged to "be kind to their minds, and live drug free" this week, as they celebrated Red Ribbon Week 2023.
UFO T-Shirt Collection (10/27) UFO students would like to continue making jump ropes and other things for needy children. Please send any new/good condition t-shirts to help out with this project.

Recycling Project (10/20) Mrs. Heatherly's students have been studying recycling. The students had a great time recycling things and turning them into really cool things such as a snack cart, cars, and even an outdoor shower!
