(9/25) Our first Benchmarks will be held next week. Teachers will send out individual schedules. Please make sure your child is at school on time and well rested.

(9/24) In P.E., students played 4-square. Four students play and try to bounce the ball to each other's square while also trying to put out another player so they might be able to make it to the serving square (King/Queen). Students develop good hand eye coordination and learn to strike the ball with control.

(9/23) Mrs. Brown's fourth grade music students will present "The Land We Love" on Monday, September 30th at 6:00pm. Everyone is invited!

(9/23) D.T. Cox PTO will be raffling off 2 gift baskets full of goodies to be given away to 2 lucky winners!!!!!!! All proceeds will go towards positively impacting the academic and social success of our students and teachers. Please see any DTC student to purchase your chances to win! Chances will be sold from September 23rd-October 2nd. The winners will be announced on October 7th.

(9/23) In P.E., students played Hungry Hungry Hippo in real life! One student laid on their stomach on the scooter, while their teammate was behind them, holding up their feet and the student on scooter held a basket. The student that was behind, pushed the other student into the middle of the circle, so they could collect balls on the ground with the basket. Finally, they pulled them back to see how many balls they had collected. Students learn teamwork and use counting skills during this activity.

(9/20) In conclusion of their sequence lesson for the week, Mrs. Hodum's students created butterfly life cycles using a variety of pasta noodles and writing the stages in sequential order.

(9/19) While studying the strategies of multiplication, Mrs. Kirk's third graders chose a random multiplication fact. They were given a rubric which included their new vocabulary words such as factors, products and expressions. They then used fact families, repeated addition, and arrays with dots to show the product of the given multiplication fact.

(9/19) D.T. Cox students, Ma’kye Edwards and Ruby-Lin Vineyard represented our school well at the Toyota “Driving Possibilities” event held on Wednesday morning. Our school is proud to be a part of this excellent opportunity for Pontotoc City School District.
