(12/18) The 3rd grade musical showcase “The Season of Lights" was a success! The students performed beautifully, and truly demonstrated the light and joy of the season! We also would like to give a shout out to Mrs. Brown, who produced this original showcase!

(12/18) Mrs. Collums' class reviewed for their Benchmark testing by teaming up against each other, and answering spiral review questions. The groups who got the questions correct received the chance to shoot the ball. If they made the basket, their team earned double points. The group with the highest points earned a treat from the candy box!

(12/18) To spread some Christmas cheer after benchmark testing, Mrs. Hodum's students followed steps in a sequence to illustrate a gingerbread man. Then, they practiced story elements by creating their own narrative stories about their gingerbread men.

(12/20) Congratulations to the following students for receiving positive office referrals this week. Keep up the good work!

(12/13) Mrs. Heatherly's students reviewed symmetry by creating a symmetry ornament. They drew half of a Christmas picture on an ornament, and wrote an explanation of symmetry. The class is sending their ornaments to different nursing homes in Pontotoc. The residents will then use their explanations/descriptions to create the other half of the ornaments. The nursing homes will post pictures of the finished products on their Facebook pages for the students to see the finished products.

(12/13) Mrs.Collums' classes completed an area and perimeter activity by measuring pieces of their Nutcrackers. Then, the students colored and composed their Nutcrackers how they wanted for a fun review activity.

(12/13) On Wednesday, December 18th, we will ditch the desks to "Camp Out & Read" in our classrooms to end the AR points window for 2nd nine weeks! Students will have independent reading time, and our Admin team will be reading books to classes as well. We will also have a grilled hotdog lunch for everyone! Bring your favorite blanket or sleeping bag, and get ready for a fun day of reading!

(12/13) Teachers at DTC celebrated Christmas early with a fun "Dip-Mas" lunch! They brought things such as Christmas Tree Cake Dip, Grinch Guacamole, Santa Salsa, Holly Jolly Pepper Jelly Dip, Three French Hens Chicken Salad, and so much more! This was just a fun way to fellowship and celebrate the season!

(12/12) Ms. Lydia's students are getting ready for the holidays by making ugly Christmas sweaters while coming up with silly Christmas sentences.

(12/12) Mrs. McNeal's class looked at different kinds of figurative language. Afterwards, they read "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," and completed a Grinch Figurative Language escape room in small groups.
