(9/1) Ms. Luther's third grade math students are working hard on learning their multiplication facts! They enjoy practicing with their peers.

(9/1) Students are working on coding skills in STEM class. They have learned about writing algorithms and debugging them when they don't work properly.

(9/1) Students were so excited to see their culture represented at D.T. Cox library. They love reading in English and Arabic!

The following students received positive office referrals this week. We are super proud of them! Keep up the good work!

(8/30) Mrs. Collums' third grade students have been learning about rounding in math class and all about the parts of a flower in science. After watching a short science video on flowers, the students completed a rounding activity using a flower. This was a fun, hands on way to tie math and science skills together.

(9/1) Mrs. H. Collums' third graders played sight word games this week to remediate what they've learned in class.

(9/1) 3rd grade gifted students used their brain power to test out various shapes and their stability. They created cylinders, squares, and triangular shapes to see which one could hold the most weight. This activity showed students that the cylinder shape was the strongest due to it not having any edges. The weight of the books was distributed more evenly, and more books could be stacked.

Join us on Thursday, September 8th for Open House and our annual Parent Title I meeting. Following the meeting, parents will visit their child's classrooms where teachers will walk them through a day in the life of their students. We can't wait to see you!

(8/26) Fourth grade gifted students are off to a great start! This week they've learned about their AMAZING brain, presented research to their classmates, learned the importance of mindfulness, and completed the Hula Hoop Challenge. They've learned that working together takes good leaders and effective communication among group members! Click the link for more photos!

(8/26) Mrs. Foster's 4th grade math students pulled randomly numbered ping pong balls to practice addition and subtraction. They had to pick two balls and then add those numbers and then take the same numbers and subtract.
