The following students received positive office referrals this week. We are so proud of them! Keep up the good work!!

(9/16) Mrs. B. Chrestman, our school nurse, visited classrooms this week to discuss reasons students should (and shouldn't) come see her. The students were super glad to spend some time talking with her!

(9/15) 4th graders worked in pairs to try escaping from Mrs. Ball's Digital Citizenship Escape Room. They discussed everything from passwords to cyberbullying while trying to escape in time.

(9/12) Gifted Students participated in the Amazing Egg Drop this week in class. With given materials, students were able to design a contraption that would protect their egg from a high drop. Students worked together to plan, design, test, and evaluate! There were lots of successful drops! Click the link for lots more photos!

(9/9) Students in Ms. Spicer's class read an informational passage about Helen Keller and completed inference assignment with the passage. As an enrichment assignment, Emi Reese learned some everyday signs, created a lesson, and taught them to her classmates.

(9/6) Our counselor, Ms. Kinnard, went into classrooms this week to teach a lesson on the importance of listening. The students absolutely love when she comes to visit! Click the link for more photos!

(9/6) Mrs. Brown's music students have been studying instruments of the orchestra. They enjoyed refining their listening skills by using various media sound bites to be able to identify the instrument without looking at it.

(9/6) Students in Mrs. Chrestman’s classes love to put their phonics knowledge into practice encoding words when they use Pop-its, colored chips, and “ magic “ magnetic wands. Students listen to a word, say it, segment the sounds as they “pop” or pull the chips, then map the words on their paper by writing the letters for each sound.

(9/1) In Science, Ms. Spicer's students have been studying physical vs chemical reactions. They used water and fizzy tablets to create carbon dioxide for a chemical reaction. The students were excited about how high it popped into the air
