(4/22) Ms. Luther and Miss McGinn's class is celebrating Earth Day in a fun and meaningful way—by reviewing quadrilaterals through a creative, hands-on activity! Students are combining their knowledge of shapes with an appreciation for our planet, making learning both engaging and memorable.
Who knew geometry could be this fun? 💚📐

(4/21) Ms. Britt and Mrs. Tutor’s classes had the best time celebrating Earth Day all week long! 🌎💚
Students created Earth Day posters, explored outside with an A to Z scavenger hunt, and went on a math scavenger hunt to find angles and shapes in the real world. They also worked through ELA task cards to learn about the history of Earth Day, all while enjoying the fresh air. ☀️📚
To top it all off, they made a fun coffee filter craft while discovering how water moves and spreads pigments.

(4/21) Today, our Mississippi Poetry Project winners had the incredible opportunity to visit the Toyota Manufacturing Mississippi Plant for a day filled with creativity, connection, and celebration!
Students from across the district came together to share their original poetry and celebrate each other’s voices. Each student also received a special anthology featuring their own published poem—a keepsake they will treasure for years to come. In addition to showcasing their work, they enjoyed lunch, received special gifts, and took part in an exciting tour of the plant.
A big thank you to Toyota for providing such a meaningful and memorable experience for our students—we are so proud of their talent and hard work!

(4/17) Our 3rd graders celebrated the end of the first round of testing in a big way! They enjoyed extra recess, a fun luau dance party, and a refreshing hydration station. It was a well-deserved celebration of all their hard work and effort! 🌺

(4/17) Mrs. Boone and Mrs. Harbin’s classes who scored a 4 on their last benchmark were rewarded in the best way—with a special “4’s Picnic”! Students enjoyed time together celebrating their hard work and achievement. We are so proud of their dedication and effort—way to go!

(4/17) Mrs. Roe’s fourth graders made a splash during their ocean-themed review day! As they explored engaging passages about oceans and coral reefs, students practiced identifying text evidence and strengthened their informational text skills. With fun ocean-themed snacks to enjoy along the way, learning was both meaningful and memorable!

(4/17) Mrs. Hodum's class celebrated the end of testing by exploring Hawaiian culture and traditions! Students learned hula, played Hawaiian-themed reading comprehension games, and created their own leis while learning their special meaning. It was a fun and meaningful way to celebrate all of their hard work! 🌺

(4/17) Mrs. Heatherly’s fourth grade math students who demonstrated mastery in geometry and measurement standards over the past two weeks put their creativity on full display!
Some students explored origami, using shapes, symmetry, and spatial reasoning to transform simple paper into impressive designs. Others created detailed drawings on grid paper—many even adding decorative borders—while calculating the area and perimeter of their masterpieces. There were definitely some talented artists at work!
A few students took a different approach by designing comic strips, using elapsed time to show how their superheroes saved the day at just the right moment.

(4/16) Students in Mrs. Steele’s classes wrapped up their reading tests with a “Glow Day” celebration. They explored the science behind bioluminescence, learned how black lights work, and discovered why highlighters glow. The day was filled with excitement as students enjoyed a glow dance party, observed science experiments, played “Bin-glow,” completed a word search, and even had a lively round of Twister all while having plenty of bright, glowing fun. Mrs. Steele is incredibly proud of her students and their hard work.
