(11/18) Mrs. Heatherly's class studied thermal energy, and were able to use a hands on experiment to see exactly how it works. First, they put their hands in ice water. Then, they put their hand in a bag of shortening (this resembles blubber like arctic animals have). Their hand stayed warm! The students were amazed!

(11/14) DT Cox teachers were treated with a soup-er lunch today thanks to our wonderful PTO. We appreciate all the parent volunteers who prepared food and/or worked cafeteria duty so everyone was able to enjoy!

(11/14) Congratulations to our DT Cox Spelling Bee contestants! These students make up the top two spellers from each homeroom. They did a fantastic job this morning!

(11/14) Congratulations to the following students for receiving positive office referrals this week! Keep up the good work!

(11/13) A few members of PHS annual staff came by DT Cox today, and took over Art class! They led each class in creating a bouncing clown. Students practiced their listening and assembly skills to create this awesome 3D sculpture!

(11/12) Students in Mrs Collums' class got creative while learning about area. They chose which item they wanted to create on grid paper. Then, they had to fill in the area of each part listed on their creation.

(11/12) Our 4th grade class was honored to perform at the Veterans Day ceremony! Our students performed beautifully and represented our school so well. They also enjoyed welcoming Veterans and thanking them personally for their service!

(11/12) The DT Cox Warrior Club strives to create leaders of tomorrow through service and respect. Congratulations to Sydney Miller-our Warrior Club member of the month!

(11/11) This week, Mrs. Kinnard, our School Counselor, is visiting classrooms to talk with students about the importance of listening. Through engaging discussions and activities, students are learning how good listening skills help them build stronger friendships, understand instructions, and show respect to others. Mrs. Kinnard is encouraging everyone to be “active listeners” by using their eyes, ears, and hearts to truly understand what others are saying.
