(8/23) Congratulations to the following students for receiving positive office referrals this week. Keep up the good work!!

(8/22) During a recent power outage, Mrs. Hodum's third graders didn't let the lights go out on learning! Instead they used flashlights to read a story with a partner and discuss character traits of Queen Cleopatra.

(8/21) Mrs. Owen's fourth graders enjoyed a Go Noodle brain break using the Tonies box.

(8/15) After studying solids, liquids, and gases, fourth grade students made Oobleck! Is it a solid or a liquid?

(8/16) 3rd grade UFO students worked on building classroom community, and learning more about each other by creating "All About Me" collages. Students could choose to illustrate images that represented them, or could find various pictures in magazines to cut out and put on their poster. Students presented their posters to each other and discussed their likes and differences! Students also utilized explore time, and GRIT (Games Really Increase Thinking) to learn reflective thinking, problem solving, decision making, cooperation, and creative expression!

(8/13) Mrs. Brown’s 4th grade music classes have been studying the history of our National Anthem. Student teams worked together to brainstorm and recall the words to the song. The students are working hard to learn the lyrics for the American-themed showcase to be held at the end of the first 9 weeks.

(8/12) During Science class, Mrs. McNeal's 4th graders studied the Scientific Method. They enriched their lesson by completing an experiment using Skittles.

(8/9) Gifted students participated in a quick Yoga session today! Students were able to relax and reduce their stress levels after a busy first week! Students also enjoyed G.R.I.T. time! Games Really Increase Thinking! Did you know, when we are playing games we are learning reflective thinking, problem solving, decision making, emotional intelligence, cooperation, competition, and how to deal with mistakes!
