Pontotoc City School District has new items and fees available online in MySchoolBucks. It’s not just for online meal payment any more!

(12/20) Wow! Mrs. Brown’s Third Grade music classes really rang in and brought the holiday cheer with their wonderful musical production of “The Season of Bells!”

(12/19) The homeroom class in each grade that brought in the most change for Jingle for Janitors were treated with cotton candy and soda. Congratulations to Ms. Luther and Ms. McNeil's homerooms!! Thank you to Mrs. Frazier for whipping up the best cotton candy!

(12/19) Mrs. Brown’s 4th Grade music students did a fabulous job on their production of “Jingle Bell Jukebox!”

(12/19) After reading "The One and Only Ivan," Mrs. Ray's third grade ELA students created an art project similar to what Ivan did in the book.

(12/19) Students in 3rd and 4th grade gifted participated in a STEM activity by growing crystals! Students studied how crystals were formed in snowflakes, and learned that a super-saturated solution of borax and hot water would create a beautiful crystal snowflake model! Students predicted, measured, estimated, observed, and were amazed at how their crystals turned out! They looked at the crystals with a magnifying glass and compared their crystals to the snowflake photographs taken by Wilson Bentley (Snowflake Bentley). This activity was fun, engaging, and students left with a beautiful holiday decoration!

(12/19) Congratulations to Mrs. Susan Brown who recently achieved National Board Certification! In order to become certified through the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, teachers complete a performance-based, peer-reviewed process, demonstrating their proven impact on student learning and achievement. This is a rigorous process, and we are so proud of her. She always goes above and beyond daily for all students at D.T. Cox.

(12/19) Santa's Elves greeted students as they entered DTC this morning spreading Christmas cheer!

(12/15) Today was a great day at D.T. Cox! Students who had perfect attendance for the months of October and November were put into a drawing for Wal-Mart gift cards, and to be able to pie the staff member of their choice! We celebrated the teachers who had perfect attendance this semester as well.
Our custodians and cafeteria workers also received their gifts raised from our Jingle for Janitors money. Thank you to everyone who gave, and made this possible!
