(2/21) Mrs. Kirk's 3rd grade math students began a unit on time this week. They made clocks using paper plates, scissors, construction paper, brads and markers. This is perfect for a visual and hands-on representation of an analog clock.

(2/29) D.T. Cox activity classes will host an Activity Showcase on Monday, March 4th from 6:00pm-7:00pm. This is a come and go event where students can show parents what they've learned in activity class this 9 weeks. We can't wait to see you there!

(2/20) Fourth Grade Music Students will present "Emojis in Music" on Monday, March 4th at 6:00pm. This is a free event, and all friends and family are invited to attend.

(2/23) Our Scholastic book fair will begin on Monday, February 26-Friday, March 1, 2024. We will have our Family night on Monday night from 4:00-6:00pm. We hope to see you there!!

(2/20) During the month of February Mrs. Bishop's PE students jumped rope and set individual goals for themselves. Third grade overall jumper was Addy O'Callagan with a time of 5:15 and fourth grade was Caleb Parman with a time of 10:00.

(2/20) Gifted students had a special treat in class on Friday! As part of their unit on Mississippi, students had a "Taste of Mississippi" day! They listened to Mississippi chefs talk about how the culture of Mississippi influenced their cooking. Students tasted Mississippi Cheese Straws, comeback sauce, southern cornbread, Mississippi Delta tamales, and topped it all off with a Barq's root beer float!

(2/15) Mrs. Brown’s 4th grade music classes are enjoying creating their own music compositions! The students have studied different techniques that composers use to create emotions in music and have now applied this process to evoke their own feelings through creative instrumental songwriting. Many of these songs will be featured during their music showcase on March 4.
