(3/21) Mrs. Hodum's third grade students are practicing test taking strategies with partners.

(3/20) PE students were taught to keep score in tennis by playing with paddles and a balloon. Mrs. Bishop hopes that by teaching them how now, it might encourage them to be interested in playing tennis as they grow older.

(3/22) Congratulations to the following students for receiving positive office referrals this week! Keep up the good work!

(3/20) The program of Research and Evaluation for Public Schools awarded the D.T. Cox Math Departments with the Math Growth Award in honor of the 2023 state assessments.

(3/7) D.T. Cox Beta students talked to classrooms this morning about their Beta Club Service Project. They will be collecting items for the Tupelo Children's Mansion through March 29th. Please see the attached flyer for specifics. Any donations are greatly appreciated!

(12/20) D.T. Cox was filled with Christmas Cheer today! Students enjoyed a special train ride, hot chocolate, pizza parties and a choir performance to put them in the holiday spirit. Thank you so much to Mr. Don Russell for driving the Polar Express train, and to PCSD Choir for such an awesome performance!

(10/4) Remember-D.T. Cox students will be selling chances on 3 gift baskets FULL of goodies through October 11th. Any student who sells at least one full sheet of chances will receive a popcorn and movie party the Friday before Thanksgiving Holidays! If you would like to purchase chances, please see any DTC student. We appreciate your support of our school!

(3/8) Students in Mrs. Ray's class practiced research and informational writing skills this week by reading Who Was books, searching for information and making presentations for the class. Some students chose to display their information on poster boards, while others used google slides for their presentations.

(3/8) Mrs. Kirk's third grade math students reviewed rounding. Students were given index cards with the numbers 10-100 or 100-1000. They were asked to round to the nearest 10 or 100 using the following rules: 4 or less, let it rest; 5 or more, raise the score. To differentiate, students made up their own numbers to round.

(3/7) Mrs. Mask and Mrs. Vandiver surprised teachers and staff with a morning pick me up from The Caffeinated Raven Coffee Truck! This delicious treat was just a small way to show how much they are appreciated for all they do each and every day!
