(8/22) Ms. Shield's third graders wrapped up their study of character traits in such a fun way! Each student created a portrait of themselves, and then they did a gallery walk around the room. Friends added positive traits about one another on each portrait, turning their walls into a celebration of kindness, encouragement, and self-reflection. Their classroom is now filled with words that show just how unique, hardworking, and wonderful these students are!

(8/21) Mrs. Roe's fourth graders reviewed opinion writing by participating in OREO writing today! Their prompt was “Should girls be allowed to play football?” Of course, they ended with a little snack!

(8/20) This week in Ms. Spicer's class, they have been working on the skills summarizing and theme. Students read a fictional text about an Oreo who was unsure of himself because of his flaws. The students summarized the story, wrote a theme for the story, created an illustration that matched the text, and enjoyed Oreos while they worked on their assignment.

(8/19) Mrs. McNeal's class learned all about theme through movies! The students had popcorn and candy while watching movie trailers. They used the trailers to pick themes for the movies! This was such a fun way to learn!

(8/18) Ms. Luther's students are learning Mississippi culture by learning about Elvis in remembrance of his death anniversary on August 16, 1977.

(8/18) Mrs. Steele’s class enjoyed a cool treat brought in from a student to celebrate a sweet start to the school year.

(8/18) Mrs. Steele’s classes ended the story of the week, “Living in the Desert” by creating and painting their own desert. To extend the lesson, students wrote about the main idea of the story and interesting facts and details about the desert.

(8/15) Mrs. Kirk's students are rounding to the nearest 10 and 100 with games!

(8/15) Ms. Spicer's students have been studying matter. To end their first week of the study, students created an informational booklet on solids, liquids, and gases.
