(9/29) Ms. Kinnard, our school counselor, recently led a P.A.T.H. lesson on being trustworthy! Students learned what it means to be someone others can count on by being honest, keeping promises, making responsible choices, and treating others with respect.
Students were encouraged to think about how their words and actions can help build trust with their friends, teachers, and family members.

(9/29) Mrs. Tutor and Mrs. Andrew’s classes completed a cross-curricular scavenger hunt. The students had a blast reading about nature, developing correct answers, and finding mathematical solutions.

(9/29) We were so excited to welcome Mrs. Leah Mitchell and Mrs. Carol Black with Catch Kids this week for an informative and engaging oral health presentation for our students!
Our students learned important tips and reminders about taking care of their teeth and keeping those smiles healthy!
A BIG thank-you to Mrs. Mitchell and Mrs. Black for spending time with our students and helping us promote healthy habits!

(9/25) Today, Mrs. Hodum's class celebrated Dolly Day! We read about the famous Dolly Parton and what she did to make the world a better place. Then, they answered a writing prompt about what they can do to do their part to make a change and make a difference in someone else’s life.
They had the best time celebrating “9 ‘two’ 5” day!

(9/25) This week in PE, our fourth graders practiced crossover ball-handling drills using the agility ladder and worked on proper shooting form and technique. Our third graders focused on defensive slides, ball handling on the move, and partner passing to develop their basketball skills, coordination, and teamwork. We spend three weeks on our basketball unit to give students additional time to develop, practice, and build confidence in a variety of basketball skills.

(9/25) We finished out a FUN homecoming week showing our Warrior Pride with Black and Gold Day!

(9/25) The last day of the Read-a-Thon was just as exciting as the first!! Thank you to all of our guest readers!! If you didn't turn in your lists and donations today, we will gladly take them on Monday!

(9/25) Today, our Peer Helpers spent 4 hours learning, growing, and preparing to make a difference as they learned what it means to “Be the Good, Show the Way, and Lend a Hand.”
Their hard work deserved a celebration, so we wrapped up our training with a pizza party! A huge thank-you to one very special Peer Helper mom for blessing our students with delicious cupcakes, too!
Each student left with their Certified Peer Helper Certificate and a special reward—free admission to tonight’s Homecoming football game, where they will be recognized for their hard work and commitment!

We are so proud of this amazing group of student leaders! We can’t wait to see the difference they make at DT Cox! Be the Good. Show the Way. Lend a Hand.
