(5/2) DT Cox Elementary School Guys with Ties club enjoyed their end of the year banquet sponsored by Mr. Mike Montgomery at Montgomery’s restaurant. The evening featured a wonderful meal and a time of celebrating achievements! Congratulations to all club members on a great year of growth and good luck with your future leadership potential!

(4/27) Students in Mrs. McLaughlin’s reading class worked in groups to respond to a narrative writing prompt. Students had to establish a setting, present a problem, and explain how the characters resolved the problem.

(4/27) This week in P. E., students were treated with "open gym." They were allowed to pick which activity they wanted to participate in first, and then they rotated through the other activities. The students really enjoyed being able to try out all the different stations!

(4/27) Students in Ms. Spicer's class have been working on their final reading review project based on the novel "Wish". After they completed the written assignment, they had to assemble the project into a dodecahedron.

(4/27) 3rd and 4th grade UFO students have been studying Ancient Egyptian symbols such as King Tut, The Eye of Horus, The Sphinx, and Anubis. While learning about these unique and intricate symbols, students created a tin foil art piece depicting these historical elements. These will be put together to form a mural in the hallway, once all of the pieces are complete.

(4/20) STEM students were allowed to spend time free building. They came up with some very creative creations!

(4/20) It's state testing week and we are here for it! Thank you to Mrs. Frazier for the coffee bar, as well as our gracious Mrs. Johnson and PTO for the additional goodies. It's a great day at D.T. Cox!

(4/20) Mrs. Foster's fourth grade students made presentations on a famous person of their choice from Mississippi. The students spent time doing research on that person, and then presented to the class for Social Studies.
