All About Angles (12/2) Students in Mrs. Foster's class have been studying angles and measuring angles with protractors. They practiced what they learned by using the protractors to measure different angles created by taping different designs on a table.
Animal Cells (12/1) After studying animal cells, Ms. Clingan's class built them using jello as cytoplasm, fruit by the foot as the cell membrane, whoppers as the nucleus, twizzlers as mitochondria, & raisins as vacuoles!
Inventions and Simple Machines (12/1) Fourth Grade UFO students have been learning about inventions and simple machines. Students brought old devices and pieces of equipment to "take apart." They looked at the inside of computers, cell phones, printers and even weed eater motors. Students were able to identify various simple machines within the equipment. We even got our custodian, Mr Marcus, in on the fun! He helped students look at the inside of the weed eater motor and identify various parts! Click the link for more photos!
Exploring Simple Machines (12/1) Mrs. Hilliard's third grade gifted students explored various simple machines while studying the famous cartoonist and inventor, Rube Goldberg. Students also presented their inventor slideshows to their peers and discussed their invention, how it was developed, and background information about their assigned inventor.
Christmas Spirit (12/1) Mrs. Chrestman's students got in the Christmas spirit decorating the classroom tree and reading Christmas stories.

We are Thankful! (11/18) D.T. Cox teachers shared a chili and baked potato lunch today, along with celebrating our secretary as her family embarks on a new journey. We are so thankful for the time to fellowship with each other. We wish her the very best, and she will be greatly missed! Also, thank you to our wonderful PTO for providing duty free lunch today!
Thermal Energy (11/18) Mrs. Heatherly's fourth graders have been learning about thermal energy. They did an experiment with ice water and blubber/fat used as an insulator. The students had a great time with this hands on activity.
