Warrior Club Field Trip

(11/19) The DT Cox Warrior Club enjoyed their community jobs field trip! The boys visited the Pontotoc Fire Station where they learned both fire safety tips and about what it takes to be a fireman. At the Police Station, our students heard about aspects of law enforcement jobs and of the day to day events in the life of a city police officer. In addition, the club was hosted by Tutor‘s Garage. Mr. Craig Tutor shared with the club members about being a mechanic and owning a business. The boys concluded their trip with a visit to Howard Stafford Park where they were met by Mr. Will Harmon of Streamline Plumbing. There the boys learned different measuring and gluing skills required for plumbing. The boys worked together to create group projects to utilize these skills. Before leaving the park, the club spent a bit of time “giving back” and picked up trash in the park as an act of community service. We are so appreciative of our club sponsors/mentors: Mr. Nathan Bailey, Mr. Jim Littlejohn, and Mr. Casey Russell. In addition, we are thankful to the men of our Pontotoc community sharing their time and experiences with our young men.
